Guide / Capture

Saving from other apps

Use the Share Sheet or Shortcuts to send text and links into SempreNotes without opening it.

Not everything worth remembering starts in SempreNotes. The Share Sheet and Shortcuts paths let you push content in from Safari, Notes, Mail, or any app that can share — without SempreNotes ever reading those apps itself.

Share Sheet

  1. Select text or a page in any app and tap Share.
  2. Choose SempreNotes from the share row.
  3. The content lands in SempreNotes’s inbox. Next time you open the app, it imports as a memory with source context and the originating app recorded.

Shortcuts

SempreNotes exposes a capture action to the Shortcuts app. Build automations that pipe text into your memory — a “log this decision” shortcut on your home screen, a share-and-tag flow, whatever fits how you work. Every Shortcut capture is an explicit invocation you built and you ran.

The boundary that matters

SempreNotes reads shared content only at the moment you share it. It does not monitor, poll, or read any app between invocations.

This is the structural difference from screen recorders: the Share Sheet hands SempreNotes exactly what you selected, once. There is no background mechanism that could see anything else — not as a policy, but because no such code path exists.
